Research

Materials. Interfaces. Durability.

My research connects how materials are made, how they behave, and how they change during operation in electrochemical energy systems.

01 · Research theme

Solid oxide cells

Electrodes, interconnects, and materials that support durable electrochemical energy conversion.

I work on solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysis cells, with a focus on electrodes, metallic interconnects, and the interfaces between components. Materials processing and electrochemical characterisation help connect structure with performance.

Hydrogen technologies

Materials and components for efficient electrolysis and green hydrogen production.

My work includes solid oxide, alkaline, and low-temperature electrolysis. I investigate the components and material interactions that influence efficiency and lifetime, including impurity effects and the corrosion of surrounding system components.

Coatings & corrosion

Protective layers and the mechanisms that determine material lifetime at high temperatures.

High-temperature oxidation changes both surface chemistry and internal microstructure. My research combines coating development with corrosion studies and modelling to understand these changes in dense steels, alloy powders, and porous supports.
